The Challenge:
- US Cold Storage was in search of highly ruggedized mobile devices for its freezer use to help track and maintain goods to achieve greater efficiency and accuracy
- The mobile devices required the following features:
- User-friendliness
- Full functionality in temperatures from -20° to -26° Celsius
- Sustainable battery life for entire work day
- Real-time data delivery
- Integration with a remote software maintenance and distribution system
- Brighter touch screens for better viewing in freezer environments
- US Cold Storage supports over 30 warehouse sites, and therefore also required software to maintain and control the mobile devices
The Solution:
- US Cold Storage deployed over 1,000 Psion Teklogix 8525 G2 rugged vehicle mount computers and 7530 G2 rugged handheld computers
- The 8525 G2 and 7530 G2 are tasked with managing inventory and orders wirelessly from receiving through to shipping
- Psion Teklogix’ Mobile Control Centre software was implemented to remotely monitor, manage, and troubleshoot and support all devices across 30 sites in real-time
