Psion takes your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy.

What This Privacy Policy Covers

This policy covers how Psion treats personal information that Psion collects and receives, including information related to your past use of Psion products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

Information Collection and Use

General

Psion collects personal information when you register with the Psion Community, when you use Psion products or services and when you visit Psion web pages. Psion may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.

When you register, we ask for information such as your name, street address, email address, zip/post code, occupation, industry and company details. Once you register with Psion and sign in to our services, we recognise your details and customize our services to suit you; you are no longer an anonymous user.

Psion collects information about your transactions with us, including information about your use of services that we offer.

Psion automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, your browser type, and the page you request.

Psion uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the content you see, fulfil your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Psion does not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you have requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:   

  • We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of, or with, Psion under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help Psion communicate with you about offers from Psion and our partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
  • We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
  • We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Psion' terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
  • We transfer information about you if Psion is acquired by or merged with another company.

We use Functionality cookies to track user visit data in pseudonymised form, unless a visitor provides us their personal data by contacting us, signing up for an event or sevice or creating a profile through another Psion property.

ThreadFilter This cookie is used to save your preference for displaying a forum thread list on IngenuityWorking.
ELOQUA This cookie is set by the Eloqua Marketing Automation Tool. It contains a unique identifier to recognize returning visitors and track their visit data across multiple visits and across multiple Psion websites. This data is logged in pseudonymised form, unless a visitor provides us their personal data through creating a profile, such as when signing up for events or for downloading information that is not available to the public.
ELQSTATUS Indicates whether a visitor may be tracked.

 

Category 4: Targeting Cookies

Targeting cookies collect information about your browsing habits in order to make advertising relevant to you and your interests. Targeting cookies to allow you to easily link to social sites like Twitter or Facebook. This information about your activity could be used to target advertising.

YouTube cookies

We may embed videos from YouTube using YouTube’s privacyenhanced mode. This mode may set cookies on your computer once you click on the YouTube video player, but YouTube will not store personally-identifiable cookie information for playbacks of embedded videos using the privacy-enhance.

Information Collection and Use Practices

During registration, or when editing your IngenuityWorking account information, you can choose whether you will be contacted by Psion about press releases, company news and announcements (including general industry technology news), product announcements and general industry technology news. Participation in email subscriptions means you will receive periodic emails from Psion on the categories you have selected. You can submit the email address where you would like to receive your subscription emails. Psion will try to provide relevant information to you in your emails based on your registration information and the Psion products and services you use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure Practices

In the process of bringing you offers through such subscriptions, our partners are not given access to your email address or to any personally identifiable information about you.

At any time you can choose not to receive emails. You can modify your settings and preferences in the community under your profile.

Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences

General

You can edit your IngenuityWorking Account Information, including your subscription preferences, at any time. New categories of subscriptions may be added to the IngenuityWorking profile page from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out of receiving future communications from these new categories, or they can unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages they receive.

Visit your profile page to change your account information and change your subscription preferences.

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Psion service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and Psion newsletters, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them, provided that they are considered part of your IngenuityWorking account. You can delete your IngenuityWorking account by contacting webmaster@psion.com.

Confidentiality and Security

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you, or in order to do their jobs. We have physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Psion may update this policy periodically. Any updates to the policy will be reflected on the version posted on our web site.
