SW9510 Communication Server Software
Manage Emulation Sessions On Your Mobile Devices
At the heart of the Psion wireless infrastructure is the 9510 communication server. It is what makes everything tick in warehouses, distribution centers and other supply chain and logistics environments to ensure operations run smoothly and profits roll in.
The SW9510 Communication Server Software is a software-only package that enables you to develop data collection apps with our emulation packages and features terminal emulation and an industrial, feature-rich emulation client for managing and configuring emulation sessions on mobile devices. Run Psion proven TESS emulation technology on any Windows server to connect to host systems with the same proven scalability, administration and reliability.
Present the right information to terminal users with exceptionally quick response times. Keep terminal sessions open – even if the device is out of range or powered off.
Decrease the number of licensed frequencies by allowing a group of bases to use the same radio channel. The CommServer controls the polling sequence so that the bases do not transmit simultaneously.
Support multiple hosts on multiple networks and complete radio independent connectivity.
Avoid application connection delays or errors by automatically connecting and logging users into their applications.
Utitlize screen formatting and optimization (TSF/O) to provide a richer user experience by formatting standard size screens for smaller displays.
Manage the radio link, store data going to and from the terminals, and supervise the handoff of terminals as they move from one base to another.
Function Key Mapping
Enhance application control by defining function keys needed for your application.
ANSI Page Saving
Reduce the data transmitted to a terminal by storing host screens locally and only sending the necessary screen changes.
Our Open TekTerm terminal emulation application emulates ANSI, VT-100, or VT-200 terminals with advanced data management features.
Psion RF terminals emulate HP2392A display terminals - asynchronous terminals capable of character, line and block mode. These terminals also handle ANSI terminal commands.
The SW9510 can emulate an IBM 5250 or 3274 controller connected to a number of IBM terminals. The emulation software inside the SW9510 converts the 5250 / 3274 data transparently to and from TESS data which is then sent to and from the Psion radio-linked terminals.
